Let It Snow!

I woke up this morning to a fresh blanket of snow on the ground. After trying to convince my husband to work from home(I didn't win), I put my roast and potatoes in the crock pot, put on my slippers, grabbed my camera and took some pictures. My neighbor was shoveling his driveway and I am sure thinking to himself, "What in the heck is she doing outside in her jammies?" To most people snow is a bother, but for me it is quite relaxing(but I don't have to drive in it). There is something about winter that makes me feel good, maybe it is because I was born in a snow storm and every year on my birthday it always seemed to snow so much that only a couple of my friends who lived in town could come, that never really bothered me. The snow is so calming, almost serene. I always hated it when someone would walk on a fresh blanket of snow, it's like they messed up this perfect layer of powdery goodness that was meant just for me. I know I sound nuts, but that's how I feel!

My kids on the other hand, just want to go outside and play in it until they can't feel their hands and feet. I am a watcher when it comes to that anymore, the older I have gotten to faster I get cold. I remember when I could stay outside and play in the snow all day! The kids are on their Christmas break from school and I am sure that they are getting a bit of cabin fever, not me I don't mind it one bit, staying inside snuggled up with my family and watching movies and knitting, it kind of makes me feel like we are the only ones who exist and sometimes that's what you need to make your appreciate your family and the time that you get to spend with them!

So I say...Let it snow!

Here are the photos I snapped this morning...

I am sure that I will be seeing allot of this over the next couple of days...

I took this picture last night, this is what Nash and Gabe do in the evenings, play the Nintendo DS. I can't complain, it's quality father and son time!

  1. Meg - thank you for being my blog follower. I hope that I can provide some ideas on using the FQ bundles. There is one completed and two ongoing. Unfortunately, pictures are not up since two are for my blog reader (2) and one I got stuck because I need to dye the fabric first.

I have a few people commenting me that I create vintage looking HDTs. I guess I have the knack for it (or its just that I'm too conventional in person). Hahaha

  2. I'm the same way about snow - I don't want anyone to walk on it. Last night the neighbors kept driving back and forth on the road and I just wanted to run out and yell at them to stop messing it up. :) I love being snowed in because there is nothing to be done or worry about. Just sitting and enjoying the snow and family.

We are definitely gamer's over here. Lately we've been playing Lego Star Wars on the XBox, trying to get 100% completion. ;)
