Holy Smokes!!

As a mother of a 4 month old I am used to being awaken at all hours of the night, but last night at around 12:50AM it wasn't the sound of Izzy's cry that made me jump out of bed, it was the sound of my husband yelling and jumping out of the bed and running out of the room holding a flaming pillow! Gabe and I sleep in our daughter's room until she gets a little older because our room is upstairs and we figured it would be a bit easier for now and since we live in such and old house, unfortunately we have to use a space heater to keep warm on these chilly winter nights. Quickly I ran over to my daughter's crib and snatched her up and ran out of the smoke filled room. Izzy of course wasn't fazed one bit, sleeping like the angel she is. Thank GOD Gabe woke up as soon as he did, the pillow was way too close to the crib and her bed skirt would have been the next to go up in flames! I haven't been that scared in a long time. One can of Febreeze and a number of squirts of the fabric refresher later, we finally return to bed around 2:50AM. I have learned my lesson, NO MORE SPACE HEATERS while sleeping!

On a lighter note, today I ordered more of the adorable creations from Bumblebird, I can't wait to get these in the mail!
