The Weekend...

Hello Again!

First I wanted to show you a picture of Izzy that I took right before we left for our weekend getaway, when I ordered those "Holy Cute" t-shirts(which, by the way I am wearing my purple one right now and I love it!) from RVA I also ordered one of the adorable Sunshine Bowette made by the lovely Rachel Denbow.
Love it...

And a little FYI, RVA will be having another update, I am sure full of more cuteness, on April 1st!

This weekend was a very much needed weekend away for Gabe and I, it rained so we didn't get to sight see as much as we wanted, plus I developed a horrible migraine that didn't care that it was a special weekend! Unfortunatly I didn't get as many pictures as I planned on getting, but here are the few that I did get taken...

This is a picture of the Bed & Breakfast we stayed in, The Hatchery

I loved this old telephone booth, it was near check-in...it had a working phone in it too!

It was Murder Mystery weekend and the theme was Jack the Ripper, there was a clue located in different B&B's and shops around Weston...The Hatchery was one of those B&B's so there was quite a bit of "interesting" traffic going through as the day went by! Now Gabe and I can say that we dined with a Queen, a Duke, a Dutchess, a Butcher, Jack the Ripper and a couple of prostitutes...unfortunatly I didn't get any photos of them, I didn't have my camera with me at the resturant.

Just some random photos taken while I was trying to get rid of my migrane!
We enjoyed the silence!!!

Later that evening we walked over to O'Malley's Irish Pub for dinner and some entertainment from Bob Reeder, a local Irish Folk singer...

If you ever visit Weston, Missouri...listening to this man is a must! I think that he knows every song ever written and can sing it and sound amazing!
Here is the entrance to O'Malley's...it is 6 stories underground the streets of Weston, MO, Gabe and I were only able to go to the Upper Pub, because we were not Pirates! We didn't know that it was a invitation only Pirate Ball and when they asked who we were with on our way down the stairs, I almost said Captian Jack Sparrow, just to be funny...it's a good thing I didn't, these people take their pirating VERY seriously! We were just fine with the Upper Pub...still plenty of entertainment!

I think that Gabe and I were in bed by 9:30 P.M., it was so nice sleeping and knowing that you wouldn't be awaken by a grumpy baby or a little boy wanting to sleep with you! Breakfast was served at 9:00 A.M. and we ate a yummy meal with a couple of very hung over pirates and murder mystery folk this morning, we then checked out so that we could enjoy a few more hours of having no kids to worry about. We stopped at an antique mall on our way back...I found many things that I loved, but their prices were CRAZY!! I found a cute little owl figure(very little)and when I saw the price I just about peed my pants, they wanted $110.00 for it!! WHAT? Are you kidding me?? Needless to say, I did not purchase anything! We did stop into Target so that I could get the girls their Easter dresses, I bought them the cutest dresses from the Liberty of London collection...I wanted to get them everything, but I know my limits!

Well that's it, sorry I didn't have more pictures to post, besides the pouring rain and the migraine headache, I had an amazing weekend with my amazing husband!

I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend as much as I did!

Oh, by the way...there were quite a bit of thrift and antique shops in Weston, but I did not find a thing, unless you are looking for glasswear or silver, Weston is not the place to shop, but everything was beautiful and well worth the peek!

  1. I just love mysteries and I would love it if I were there (with you). I think I need a weekend off too - spending too much time with the little people over the weekend just wear me off (but I do love the time though).

Meg, I'm glad you and Gabe could get away for the weekend - hopefully you could get that much needed break despite rain + migraine. Loved seeing pictures from your time away! Sounds like a pretty fun place to visit. Oh, and I think I would have loved that whole mystery thing. :)
