"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" Psalm 56:3-4
While taking my little girl to Pre-School this morning I caught the end of a conversation on the K-LOVE Morning Show, they were talking about what children are afraid of...the dark, the boogie man, the monsters underneath the bed...but then one of the announcers made a great statement that really spoke to me, he said that as adults we are still afraid of "monsters". Of course not the same monsters as we were as children, but the monsters of our heart, our mind...the monster of self doubt, self loathing, stress, anxiety, anger, and fear. I don't know about you, but I personally have all of those "monsters" living underneath my bed, living in my heart where they don't belong.
The amazing thing about following Jesus is knowing that He has my back, He is my daddy that comes in my room, my heart to comfort me, to tell me not to be afraid of the "monsters". When I put my trust in Him, what can mere "monsters" do to me? I am no longer afraid!
"For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." Isaiah 41:13
Dear Lord, thank you for always being there for me, to comfort me in my time of need, in my time of fear. I trust you and know that I can always take your hand and battle through every obstacle in my way! In Jesus Name, Amen!
