Hello December!

Wow, December 1st already? This year has just flew by for me, how about you? It's going to be a busy month around this house, we have lots of Christmas dinners to attend and I am "hosting" 2 of them...oh no, does that mean I have to cook another turkey?? Oh, and speaking of turkey, here is mine from Thanksgiving...

Personally, I think it turned out okay...no complaints, no food born illnesses, no deaths (besides the turkey)...so I call that one good!

We had a great Thanksgiving celebration, it was small, just my mom and step-dad, sister and brother-in-law and my 2 nephews...we watched Zombieland (I know, a great family movie) then played a little Wii, all in all it was a great night!

Friday morning the kids, Gabe and I decorated our home for Christmas while we watched Elf, A Christmas Story, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and then topped it off with the new Christmas Carol with Jim Carey...here is a little peek into our home...

This apron was my Grandma's!

Our little vintage Elf on the Shelf...

We had to minimize our decor this year due to little hands, so that meant only one tree this year!

Have you started decorating for the Holidays yet?

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

  1. love the decorations! Man, I wish we had a mantle. I would totally deck it out! Aside from our tree and advent garland, decorations are minimal, thus far. I want to make a wreath or two to put around the house. Maybe also get a smaller tree for a shelf in one of the other rooms--perhaps for handmade ornaments.

    And that turkey looks delicious!

Love National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, we watch it at least 4 times every year!

I have all the deco up except for the tree...will put it up this weekend!

  3. I started decorating for the holidays before Thanksgiving. It's my favorite time of year.
That bird turned out great!! I cheated and went to buy a Honeybaked Ham but whatever. It was really good. I love Christmas Vacation and I think I can recite the whole movie word for word. :)

  6. Aw! We're getting to Christmas decorating so late this year! And kitty likes to get into trouble with branches and such. Oh well. We must have a tree though, that is for sure :)
